Life Drawings

The time has come to select three life drawings for the Sussex County Arts Club Summer Exhibition during the Brighton Festival next month (Private View on April 30th). After going through a small mountain of drawings I have settled on choosing three from these, all pastel pencil on Murano paper from the Tuesday evening sessions, all ten minute drawings.

Life Drawing

I went to the Drawing Circus Star Wars themed evening at The Old Market in Hove last night where they had models dressed as Darth Vader, Luke Skywalker etc. My regular model, Naomi was there dressed as Princess Leia and here is a 45 minute drawing of her in pastel pencil on Murano paper.

The Drawing Circus, some drawings

I went to Jake Spicer's event at The Old Market on Monday evening called The Drawing Circus: Festivity! Here are a couple of drawings from that session, one of Felix and one of a model I am afraid I did not get the name of. Pastel pencil on Murano paper.

Life Drawings

In lieu of any more progress on Dewi Sri until I get back to the studio on Saturday, here are a couple of life drawings from last night's session at the Sussex County Arts Club. The model was the lovely Naomi Wood who I did mainly portraits of during the course of the evening. They don't do her justice of course. Pastel pencil on Murano paper.

The Drawing Circus

I went to Jake Spicer's Drawing Circus at the Bosco Theatre last night straight after returning from a trip to Leicester (hence no posts for a few days). As usual it was a great show but could have done with being nearer the models despite being on the second row. I got a couple of drawings of Frankie that were OK and one of Clementine with a lion head although it doesn't look much like her....pastel pencil on Canson Mi-Teintes paper.

Third drawing for the SCAC May Exhibition

I have decided to frame up a third life drawing for the upcoming Sussex County Arts Club exhibition that will run during the four weekends of May as part of the Brighton Festival. It is in fact one from last night's session at the club of Francesca Cluny (Frankie), this pose being up for a vote to last fifteen minutes instead of the usual ten which I didn't vote for as I felt she was too far away to merit spending fifteen minutes on. Wrong. I would have loved to had an extra five minutes on this in retrospect......pastel pencil on Mi-Teintes paper.
