This one is intended for my upcoming slot on Every Day Original for the 28th of this month. I thought I would do another Orientalist piece, a moonlit scene of a pleasure pavilion on a lake somewhere in India... actually based on Udaipur in Rajahsthan when I went there in the 1980s. I will probably base this around a green/blue - red/orange colour complementary although I will make the final decision over my breakfast coffee tomorrow morning.
This is the tonal underpainting stage which was first "drawn" up with a small bristle brush and then the tone put on with a rag and a small flat brush.
Oil on linen 16" x 12".
