Ronda - stage 2

Before painting the colour underpainting I gave the first stage an extra wash of the Burnt Sienna/Winsor Violet mix over the whole picture the night before so it was dry for this morning's session. The painting is going to be quite dark and moody with bright late afternoon sunlight hitting some of the buildings. These light areas will be painted in later with warm opaque yellows so I am keeping the painting subdued at the moment with relatively muddy colours so far. It will be based around a red/green near complementary with yellows and warm browns and has so far used mixes of Burnt Sienna,  Permanent Sap Green, Italian Green Umber, Unbleached Titanium and Yellow Lake Deep, all Michael Harding colours.
