Low Season - stages 1 & 2
 |
Stage 1 |
Another painting along the road to what I'm looking for, I'll recognise it when I get there! The location for "Low Season" is the King Alfred Leisure Centre on the seafront of Hove about ten minutes walk from where I live. Still following the mantras stuck to my easel (see a previous post on this blog for the mantras) I have done the tonal underpainting ready for the first colour pass tomorrow morning. I'm after a certain mix of colour, design and atmosphere that hopefully avoids the Picturesque and topographical...
Stage 1 was "drawn" up with a small bristle brush using a mix of Burnt Sienna and Winsor Violet thinned with Liquin.
Stage 2 was put in with a rag using the same paint mix.
